Frequently Asked Questions
What is The Intersections?
The Intersections is an exciting new recreation, health and wellness campus being developed in Omaha by Community Health Development Partners (CHDP).
Who is Community Health Development Partners?
CHDP was created to provide quality, affordable health and wellness related facilities, programs and services to the people and places who need it most. Our team’s mission is to bring equality and opportunity through diverse recreation and wellness campuses to underserved communities.
We partner with a diverse range of for-profit and nonprofit mission-focused community organizations - ranging from medical service providers to urban agriculture to increase the availability of services and contribute to the economic growth in the communities we serve.
Where is The Intersections located?
The project site spans 25 acres. The boundaries of The Intersections are Martha Street to the North, Deer Park Blvd. to the South, I-480 to the West, and the Union Pacific railroad tracks to the East.
We believe our location will provide the most access to both North and South Omaha and our amenities will draw people from all over the city and the region.
What organizations will be providing services at The Intersections?
There are many local organizations doing great work and we are in discussions to partner with some of them on this project. We will be announcing more information about our partners and their services soon.
What is currently planned at The Intersections?
The Intersections will be a campus-like setting with five key components that we believe will draw people from around the region, generate excitement, and positively impact the community:
Technology and Esports Center: This center will feature technology labs, educational spaces, and a large Esports arena that will be unique to the region.
Action Sports: This facility will house an indoor skate park, bouldering area, foam pit, and tumbling gym.
Wellness Center: This facility will offer a broad range of medical and wellness services, including primary care, pediatrics, women’s health, integrative care, behavioral healthcare, massage, yoga, and relaxation/meditation with onsite daycare.
Sports, Fitness and Rehab: This facility will house athletic training, physical and occupational therapy, an athletic performance training center, 8 basketball and volleyball courts, 4 multi-turf fields, sports simulators, fitness gym, and opportunities for everyone and all fitness levels.
Community Center / Food Hall / Nonprofit Incubator: This facility will include a food hall, urban farming center, office space, and a corporate and community training center.
What is the project timeline and when will it be open to the public?
Our goal is to break ground in the Fall of 2022 and be open to the community in the Spring of 2025.
